How to use:
Perfect for breakfast and filling cakes and desserts, this blackberry jam is also ideal as a tasty topping. Add a spoonful to ice cream, yogurt or use it to create layers of flavor in muffins or parfaits, for a surprising dessert.
Crumbled with blackberries
Ingredients:
- 300g of 00 flour
- 150g cold butter, cut into cubes
- 100g of sugar
- 1 whole egg
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 pinch of salt
- Blackberry jam (quantity to taste)
- Powdered sugar (for garnish, optional)
Method:
Preparation of the dough:
In a large bowl, mix the flour with the sugar, baking powder and salt.
Add the cold cubed butter and work the dough with your hands until it resembles crumbs.
Add the egg and work the dough quickly until you obtain a homogeneous mixture.
Assembly of the crumble:
Take half the dough and distribute it evenly on the bottom of a tart pan, pressing it lightly.
Spread the blackberry jam generously over the pasta base.
Crumble the rest of the mixture onto the surface of the jam, forming an even layer of crumbs.
Cooking:
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Bake the crumbled bread in a preheated oven and cook for about 25-30 minutes, or until the surface is golden and crispy.
Cooling and service:
Let the crumble cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a serving plate.
If desired, sprinkle the crumble with icing sugar before serving.
Suggestions:
- The blackberry crumble is delicious served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a splash of whipped cream.
- You can add a handful of chopped almonds or hazelnuts to the dough for an extra crunch.
